About the event
Join us for an Advanced Yoga Immersion program starting in February 2023. This two month program foundational program will meet four times and is designed to give students a deeper understanding of the 8 limbs of yoga, including the philosophy, history, pranayama, meditation, and asana — as well as provide students with tools to develop and advance their own practice.
Dates:
- February 22nd (5-7pm) on Zoom
- February 25th (10am-4pm) at YogaSource
- March 22nd (5-7pm) on Zoom
- March 25th (10am-4pm) at YogaSource
Times listed are in PST.
Students will practice advanced alignment-based asana each morning and dive into discussions, lectures, and hands-on skills labs each afternoon. Outside of our in person sessions, students will receive prompts and homework to deepen their learning of yoga.
Topics Covered:
- Advanced asana, pranayama, and meditation practices
- Functional anatomy and alignment of specific postures
- History of yoga and the influence of different cultures on yogic practices
- Philosophy of yoga including the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita
*Please note, this training does not prepare you or certify you to teach yoga, pilates, sculpt, or other strength-only classes. This training will focus on alignment-based practice.
**This training will have an enrollment minimum of 10 students. If the minimum is not met, this training may be postponed.

Saturday Schedule:
10:00am - 12:00am - Morning Yoga Practice 12:00pm - 1:00pm - Break 1:00pm - 2:00pm - History / Philosophy 2:00pm - 3:40pm - Anatomy & Asana Lab 3:30pm - 4:00pm - Evening Practice
Additional Time:
Plan for 2-4 hours each week of practice, journal prompts, recommended reading, and podcasts/videos. While these are ungraded assignments, they will supplement the training and allow you to advance your practice outside of our in person sessions.
